Urban Bounty Home & Garden Services
Gardener available for design, installation and maintenance of gardens. My focus is on restoring public land, but
I also love helping clients with their properties when the match is right.
My style is a blend of westcoast native forest restoration, tidy Japanese gardens, food-producing cottage gardens,
and permaculture design. I am based in Chilliwack and will work on gardens between Abbotsford and Hope.
I charge $35 per hour for labour. I don't charge by the job. I charge a modest amount for travel time and gas.
My gardening principles
- Grow native trees, shrubs, ferns and herbaceous plants. They can be mixed with some non-native species.
- Less lawn. Lawns should be, at most, pathways and gathering areas between gardens.
- Remove invasive species.
Building a great wildlife garden:
- Mulch gardens regularly. Bare soil is an invitation for weeds.
- Feed gardens with compost and organic fertilizer.
- For a new or renewed garden: Weed thoroughly > Amend soil / add compost > Plant > Mulch
- A garden shows time on its face. Great gardens take years or decades.
- A garden is a collaboration between human creativity and nature.
- Utilizing natural processes saves time and money.
